Interactive Environment

Digital Class UDK Berlín

Stillness is an interactive environment where meditative and relaxing sounds are only played while the participant or participants don't move.

The installation concept is based on the 1991 artwork "Very Nervous System" by David Rokeby and has been designed as a paraphrasing of it. David's artwork was one of the first interventions that allowed some sort of natural relation with the surrounding technologies. However, today's offer of interactive environments is so crowded and sometimes overwhelming. In response, this installation looks for a calm and respectful of the nervous system interaction and experience.

Music from the video documentation of "Very Nervous System" by David Rokeby.

Installation created at the Digital Class of the Berlin University of the Arts UDK.
